The Education Students' Association of Nigeria (ESAN) at Adeyemi University of Education recently hosted a highly successful Inter-Level Debate Competition, organized by the Office of the General Secretary, Comrade Oluwaseun Oluwadare Victor. The event, held on August 19, 2025, at the Tinubu Room, brought together students from various departments to engage in a spirited intellectual exchange on the theme "Tech or Teachers: Is Digital Learning Making Us Smarter or Softer?".

The debate commenced with a welcome address by Comrade Olarode Olaniyi, ESAN President, who emphasized the importance of debate in intellectual development and leadership. The competition followed a structured format, with each department represented by a team of two speakers arguing for and against the motion. A panel of judges assessed participants based on clarity of argument, content relevance, delivery and eloquence, rebuttal skills, and overall teamwork.

The Department of Educational Management presented a compelling argument in favor of technology, highlighting its role in democratizing access to education globally. In contrast, the Department of Early Childhood Care delivered a passionate rebuttal, arguing that over-reliance on technology risks eroding critical thinking and interpersonal skills.
